Memorial Day weekend at Crystal Mountain

They wondered if they would beat their own record of 1998-1999 season, and they promised us to be open until the snow melts...

Last week Crystal Mountain Resort set a new season record for snowfall - 600 inches, and they did stay open and celebrated this Memorial Day weekend with live music, an outdoor BBQ on the sundeck, scenic gondola rides, lunch at the Summit House and of course ..."semi epic spring skiing and snowboarding".

So what if it's slushy snow and thick fog, and a few rock and dirt patches here and there ? Stoke is stoke, anywhere, anytime...

I pictured this...but...

...but got that instead...

Still beats being at work...

Too bad about all the fog yesterday. Saturday morning started with promise, but ended with heavy snow. The forecast for next weekend calls for sun in the mountains. My fingers are crossed.
